Recently, a new comparison between Private and GTU affiliated MBA colleges were published on GTU website and can be accessed at http://gtu.ac.in/PublicNotice/MBA_Course_PublicNotice.pdf.

GTU has claimed that there are advantages of joining MBA program of GTU affiliate MBA colleges. I will like to draw attention of GTU for some points which makes the GTU MBA colleges poor in standard.

Point 1:

The most important thing about an MBA program is Placement. MBA Colleges which are affiliated with GTU have very poor placement records.

Point 2:

MBA is not all about degrees. It looks like MBA is being promoted merely as degree for getting job or further admission. What all matters are what you learn during the two years @ MBA Colleges?

Point 3:

There are many colleges which are running in shifts like schools. MBA Should not be like that.

Point 4:

Majority of the faculties of the GTU affiliate MBA colleges don't have industry experience. Even they don't have teaching experience. AICTE rules say anyone with 60% or more marks in MBA can be a faculty in GTU affiliate colleges. Do you think that those people who even don't have worked for a day in industry can give you real core industry knowledge?

Point 5:

Majority of GTU affiliated MBA colleges don't have full time directors.

I advise;

Don't rush behind MBA degree. Industry doesn’t care whether you have done MBA from GTU or private MBA colleges. Industry cares what your real knowledge is; what you have learned there; who were the people who thought you?

I personally know many people who are working as faculty only for the purpose of job security. Those people lack the skills, knowledge and attitude to make you capable for the industry.

Do remember that, even today, majority of MBAs in Gujarat are unemployed as their colleges don't teach them what industry demands.

There are many colleges who lack the placement department. Students are not being guided for their career and future.

My frank advice;

MBA degree is not a magic degree. Join a college which has good placement history, which has good number of qualified faculties having Ph.D (Management) etc. Be clear; the people who've never worked for any corporate can't teach you how to perform better in your corporate life.
